When I have an “issue”(and yes, I do have them occasionally!) as in I want to feel much better or get my head screwed on a little straighter, I download some tapes on the appropriate subject to my ipod, plug in the earpieces and start walking down my favorite next door bike trail that meanders over a couple rivers and sits next to the lake.
And, I take my Ipod and plug it in in my Scion and listen to the tapes while I drive around town, to my cabin or to Grand Rapids.
I soon tap into feelings of relief and my persistent negative thoughts are transformed into optimism.
Yes, I’ve discovered an indispensable tool for my well-being.
And, here’s a little secret.
Well, maybe not a secret, but when I started producing the 15 minute coaching sessions on tape, I had this very process in mind for you.
That persistent pain (fear, anger, sadness, loss, etc) tears away persistently at your body and soul when discovering infidelity in a relationship does it not?
And how difficult is it to shake the powerful images and thoughts that rule the mind?
It is TOUGH! Most of you know exactly what I’m talking about.
But, now you can take the coaching sessions I’ve taped and live with them. They can become a part of you as you listen to them time and time again.
Each time a new insight will make you feel better, more hopeful. You will feel less alone, less crazy and less out of control. Your inner world will change.
You will
- shift your focus away from the pain
- see the issues rather than feel the issues
- feel good about your progress and strength
- clear the cobwebs, get the clear picture
- build your skills for your next intense encounter
- learn how to act with power and integrity not react out of neediness and weakness
Here’s what others are saying about the Audio Sessions:
I just wanted to drop you a quick line and say how bloody impressive these audio interviews are!
They are really painful, mind you, but you manage them really well!
I gained from these interviews was the strong realization that there are real people out there who are struggling with these issues. Of course I know that at one level (and counsel plenty of them myself) but it was very impacting to get a sense of the number of people who must be suffering in this way. I thought it could be extremely strengthening for someone in a similar situation to hear a real person like this and so realize that they are not alone!
OK. I’m raving, but the bottom line is that I was really surprised as to how impacting I found these interviews.

Once again… it was great to know that I was not alone…. except for the names and a few other things…. this could be my story…. and the doctors advice is so right on….
———-
Well, the most obvious benefit was hearing a story that was so similar to my own. While satisfying and reassuring, it also made me view my own experiences from a third person lens–that was valuable. I’m not sure why exactly. Perhaps because I felt that, even though she was confused, I could view her situation clearly. That distance is something I’ve been totally lacking in dealing with my own situation.
———-
This tape makes me feel that all my confusion is normal & that recovering from an affair is a process. I can be aware of the process in spite of very strong feelings.
———-
It makes me feel like it can really happen when I hear other “victims” saying that they feel that they can turn their experience into something positive for their marriage…make it even better than it was before the affair.
———-
As I listen to this tape and your words to this woman, more and more I recognize my part in pushing him away, and my lack of ability to be attentive to his pain, as I was grieving the loss of my family of origin. Listening to the tape caused me to be more and more clear.
But there’s More than the Taped Coaching Sessions…
Yes, in addition to the 19 taped sessions, you receive an introduction and review of each session to print.
The introduction is as it seems; it sets the background for the tape, giving you a summary of the circumstances for that person. You will know something about the featured person before you hear the tape.
The reviews offer two great perspectives.
First, I break down the session for you. I may outline the underlying dynamics of that session. I may chart a course for future action. I may talk about the session in terms of the 7 kinds of affairs. I evaluate what I said, what I maybe missed or where we could have gone. You will know what I think, what goes through my mind after a session.
Second, you will get reviews for each tape from people just like you, those who are in the midst of coping with infidelity.
You will discover what advice others would give to the person in the tape and what benefit each person received from hearing the tape.
You will enter a new world. You will feel surrounded by like-minded, similarly struggling folk, who care about you and are willing to share part of their story and insight. You will learn from them.
Here’s what you get:
You receive over 5 hours of recorded sessions. Each taped sessions runs from 15-20 minutes, enough to hear the story, pinpoint a couple key issues and patterns and move toward some resolution. The 19 tapes:

Overview, Peer and Expert Review of Each Session
You may download a pdf file which gives a summary, peer review and my review for each session. These reviews vary according to the interest for each tape. For, example, some of the more prevalent concerns (competing with the op, getting him/her to talk) may have up to 30 responses. Whereas others may have fewer.
You are able to listen to the sessions online if you desire. Buttons with pause, forward and reverse take you where ever you want to go in the session.
Do memories, images and thoughts about him/her constantly intrude and zap your energy? Does your mind drift, or you discover you are staring into space?
The Power of Taking These Voices with You
If so, I highly recommend you download the sessions onto a cd or mp3 player. (If you don’t know how to do that, don’t worry. I give explicit instructions. I tell you how I do it, and I’m no techie. It’s a piece of cake. Really.)
Take the audios with you! Go for a walk listening to the sessions. Listen in your car. Take them wherever you go for one solid week. Immerse yourself in the tapes and notice how your feelings change to relief, optimism and hope.
How in the world will my partner and I restore the trust back into our relationship?
I recommend another resource to help you cope with infidelity. One of my online colleagues, Dr. Frank Gunzburg, offers a wealth of information that compliments Break Free From the Affair.
Dr. Gunzburg has done an amazing job of breaking down all
the steps that both the injured, the cheater and then the
couple need to go through if they want to heal their relationship.
He’s got 3 specific phases that he encourages his readers to go through and you can start the program even if your spouse isn’t willing.
